Married Life. nbd.

Here is the first picture I took of my husband!!

We stopped at Carl's Junior after we got sealed for a honey mustard chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a Coke. Bryan told the girl at the drive thru that we had just gotten married. I'm sure it wasn't obvious.

We drove to Vegas after we unwrapped our car of the 3,000 feet of saran wrap and oreo cookies...

Aren't honeymoons the best?! Even though Vegas in August averages 114 degrees and a windchill of about 200 degrees, we didn't mind :) Our hotel room was super swanky on almost the top floor overlooking the strip. We went and saw the Jabbawockeez. It's a dance crew show and it was awesome. We also watched the Bellagio fountains which is one of my most favorite things.

Then we came home and went back to real life. Sad face.

This weekend we decided to go up Milcreek Canyon to roast hotdogs and break in Bryan's new dutch oven. He is the master of peach cobbler. We also had a small casual dance party around the fire using the sounds of a nearby wedding. It was so much fun.

I love being married. And I especially love being married to Bryan. I think he is the best husband ever. I love hanging out with my best friend everyday. He is the sweetest, funniest, most attractive guy I know. And he makes me cobbler, need I say more?

Ok I will. He does dishes.

p.s. I finally registered my car in the state of Utah after living here for 2.5 years. I shed a small tear and I still haven't put my new plates on my car yet. Somehow I feel like taking off my California plates means I'm not a Californian anymore.  I'll get over it, I hope.

The REAL cake.

This was my first and probably last attempt at a wedding cake. My roommate Sarah asked me to make her cake. I wasn't nervous about it until about 2 hours before the wedding when I only had one cake finished...haha. The cakes didn't make it exactly on time but I don't think anyone noticed.

I loved delivering the cakes because everyone jumped out of our way as we carried them through the reception to the cake table like we were pros. I also loved seeing people admire the cakes knowing that I, the cake-baker, was standing right beside them. I felt so honored to play such a big role in Sarah and Christian's wedding, thanks for the opportunity but please don't ask me ever again :)

Thanks so much to my roommates Emily and Michelle for helping me move and transport the cakes, and especially for calming me down when I thought all of the icing was going to slide off.
Oh and thanks to the weather for not being so hot that all of the icing would slide off.

Cake Practice

My roommate Sarah asked me to make her wedding cake. So I've been practicing. She did NOT want a green cake...this was for St. Patrick's Day. I sort of love it. And thanks to Pinterest for the ombre frosting idea.

Lady A

Cousin Whitney, roommate Emily and friend before our Valentines date to the Lady Antebellum concert.
Darius Rucker opened for them which was FANTASTIC! I'm not very familiar with his newer country music (but Whitney sure was!!) but I'm a huge fan of Hootie and the Blowfish even though they are no more. He played a few of the old classic Hootie songs.

This pink piano came out of the floor. The crowd went wild. Now I want a pink piano.

The finale party.

Such great music! My all time favorite was Just a Kiss and Darius's Only Wanna Be with You
